Want to know how our top users are using Cashmere to save for their favourite luxury fashion items? We interviewed university student, JoJo, to find out what’s currently on her wish list and how she budgets.

Where do you come from?

Boston Area in the USA and recently moved to London

What do you do for a living?

I am currently still a student at Uni but intern for a startup on the side

How did you hear about Cashmere and what were your initial thoughts?

I heard about Cashmere through a friend and I was immediately interested in the concept. There aren’t many businesses that actually help their customers with saving money in an easy to understand way so it was refreshing to hear the main concept of Cashmere is to do exactly that. It’s very rewarding to earn items with Cashmere’s and not feel guilty about buying an item I’ve been wanting too.

What’s your favourite feature on Cashmere and why?

My favourite feature on Cashmere is the ability to see how long it will take to save up for specific items in my wish list. I’m motivated to keep saving so I can finally buy the Gucci bag I have had my eye on.

Are you currently saving towards something in particular?  if so, what, and when do you plan to buy it?

I am currently saving towards a couple items right now, which are a Stella McCartney Falabella mini tote, Valentino shoulder bag and Byredo perfume. I plan on buying the perfume first in about 2 months and the other two items in about 8 months, they will definitely be worth the wait.

Have you made any changes to help you reach your goal?

I have made a conscious decision to use Uber and Uber Eats less often. It is amazing how much money you can save just from cutting back on those.

How would you describe your relationship with money?

I have a fairly good background with understanding money since I am at Uni learning about it. But when it comes to saving money I am not the best because I am a huge impulse buyer. Since activating my Cashmere wallet, I have been more aware of my spending decisions and keep reminding myself to think about the pair of the Saint Laurent shoes I could buy instead of going on a shopping spree.

What’s the biggest money lesson you’ve learnt?

I learned that once you get into a routine of putting money aside for the future, it eventually becomes a habit. It is so important, especially with being young, to start practicing these habits now rather than later.

What is the biggest item you’ve splurged on to date and how did it make you feel when you were finally able to purchase it?

I recently splurged and moved to London so that was very exciting and so far it has been amazing. I am glad I made the decision to come here, it is worth the money spent to make it possible. After saving and buying my plane ticket, I had a fulfilling feeling and couldn’t wait.

Finally, what are your top 4 items in your Cashmere wish list?

In no particular order…

Valentino Rockstud 60 Blush Leather Sandals
Stella McCartney Falabella Mini Light Grey Woven Raffia Tote
Chloe Tess Small Almond Leather Shoulder Bag
Gianvito Rossi Plexi 105 Pink Leather And Perspex Pumps
